The East Hants Stingrays is a Competitive Summer Swim Club with three different skill set groups:
Manta Ray are our most seasoned swimmers who swim in a fun, challenging and supportive atmosphere where swimmers are able to fine tune their technical swimming skills. Swimmers participate in challenging training to achieve their personal goals.
Electric Ray swimmers have competitive swim team experience and are working towards mastery of swimming techniques for all strokes, turns, and starts of competitive swimming.
Whiptail Ray swimmers are the introductory group to competitive swimming. They are introduced to the basic skills in the four competitive strokes, as well as starts and turns.
Swimmer Requirments: Age 8-18, Swim Level 5 or equivalent, must be comfortable in deep water and be able to swim 25m non-stop, unassisted
Maintenance Training: September - May
As we are a Summer Swim Club, swimmers are restricted to 1 hour training practices, twice per week during our "Off Season".
Competitive Summer Season: June - August
Swimmers during our Competitive Season are able to have access to unlimited training time, and take part in 1-1.5 hour practices (depending on skill leveled group) fives days per week. Swim Meets are optional events each weekend throughout the summer, but because The East Hants Stingrays are a Summer Competitive Swim Team, all swimmers are asked to participate in a minimum of 1 swim meet during the summer, as well as The Nova Scotia Summer Swimming Provincials at the end of the summer season.
